Paul plays with some people in a project called Columna Ascaso. Originally there was a couple of protest-songs written by Oscar Abril Ascaso that needed to get arranged, played and recorded. A number of people started to play and record them in a punkrock-fashion, among them Paul ,but he now did some remixes and experimental stuff with the original material.
Some of it already found its way into Institut FATIMA live shows.
this next one is a coverversion of a song by spanish songwriter Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio.
This was a blast! We played on this year's Rebel Phonk Festival. A rave in a cottage near Girona. We had a bit trouble getting there, the card that B. wanted to give us got it's windows smashed in the night before we went, so we had to find someone to carry us. Luckily we found Jasmin who took us along in her Range Rover, together with DJ Nicenoise. Nice ride!
Once we got there we met Monne, one of the organizers. Well, when will we play and where? Answer: "Main stage, headliner". Whow. When is that? "Tomorrow morning at 10". Errrrr.... OK, in the end we played during the night, great sound and amzing gig. in the middle of the concert the energy broke down, after some great investigations after 15 minutes power came back and we all danced our asses offf. Also great DJs, we enjoyed it a lot, rebel phonk really rocks! Party never stopped. Here a short video that I shot at 12:30 on sunday: They continued to dance until 5 pm. Those people know how to party!!
We played another catalan plaza-balcony. This time in Palafrugell, a beautiful little town at the Costa Brava. The whole town had a kind of flowers and decoration centered fiesta, concerts and expositions in patios all over town. The Balconitis-crew was invited to organize two double sessions on saturday and sunday on balconies over the central main place of the town. We played sunday, after "Mariachis Semblanza". Behind lots of catalan flags.
We have a new studio. Actually we don't have it, we rent it for a couple of days per month. it's the studio of those guys: http://befaco.wordpress.com/ . They build modular synthesizers! They have a huge one in the other room of the studio:
Great stuff, hope we are going to jam one day on all of those machines and effects!!!
